Yesterday was Noah's "10 month birthday"- we are down to DOUBLE DIGITS. My baby is almost a :::gasp::: TODDLER! I turned my head for a minute yesterday and he was in a "downward dog" ( for you yoga practicers) position. I couldn't believe it! The chaos is sure to begin soon...
Today is also September 11th, it's one of those days that I am sure we all will always remember where we were, who we were with, etc. etc. I didn't lose anyone personally but I do live in NY and my dad was on a work crew in the days that followed and saw some pretty horrific stuff.
I was thinking about where I was then, how different my life was. I was 20 years old, in college, basically just a kid. I was late to class and caught the images of the plane hitting the building on t.v. I sat and watched the news a little bit longer, then realized school had just started and reluctantly went to class. When I got there, no one knew what was going on, and had I not been late, I would have been just as clueless.
When class got out, there was mass chaos everywhere. Living so close to NYC, everyone was freaking out because a brother, sister, mother, father, boyfriend, someone was THERE. Classes were cancelled. The radio station was just broadcasting news on the event. It seriously felt like the end of the world.
Worst of all was all those people who did lose a brother, sister, mother, father, wife, husband, friend...let's keep them in our prayers today. It's been seven years, but I am sure it feels like yesterday to these families.
