Teething hell, crying it out, and so on and so on...

I have never really let Noah "cry it out". I guess I am a softy, I have tried, but when he is sobbing mammma mammma ma ma - I can not stand to ignore it.

As he approaches one, and starts to become a toddler, I am going to need to set clearer limits and routines and I think crying it out is one of them.

To say the past few nights have been a struggle is an understatement.  Noah and I have slept maybe all of 5 hours a night, and those hours are not consecutive. I am tired, he is tired, and I grow increasingly more frustrated with my husband who in 10 months has NEVER gotten up with Noah.

So last night at bedtime we tried "crying it out". This went on for a few hours. Of course I didn't let him cry for 2 hours straight, I checked on him, rubbed his back, but never picked him up. He finally fell asleep at around 9:40pm.

I think I am flunking bedtime routine 101, actually I think I already failed and need remedial help.

Off too Amazon to order the book on the Ferber method.....

Hopefully when teething stops this will all get a wee bit easier, but until then me and starbucks will continue our morning affair.

Quick question for you: Does your hubby sleep soundly or does he just not get up?
Just curious!

I was the same way. It will get easier for you and for Noah. I am glad you finally got him to sleep. How is it going?
